			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Indian Veterinary Association was established in the year 1922 and was registered as an Association under the Registration of Societies Act, as Reg.S.No. 96 of 1967. The Association with its jurisdiction all over India and headquarters at New Delhi has got as affiliated branches / associations in every state in the <a href="http://forum.mapmonde.org/india-f71.html">Indian</a> Union.<span id="more-9"></span></p>
<p>The objects of the Association are as follows :<br />
To create an espirit de crops among the members of the Veterinary Profession; to promote the advancement of Veterinary Science in all its aspects; to uphold the dignity and honour of the profession and to safeguard its rights and interests; to initiate, encourage and support Veterinary research; to publish Veterinary journals reports and<br />
treatises; to function as the National body representing the profession; to advise and arbitrate in matter relating to education, employment and working conditions for members of the Veterinary Profession; to help organise and affiliate branches in different states and territories of the Indian Union; to purchase or otherwise acquire any property or estate capable of being used for any of the purposes of the Association and to solicit gifts, donations, contributions, bequests etc; to co-operate with other professional Associations and with International Veterinary Societies or Associations in furtherance of the objects of the Association and to organise conferences, conventions, seminars and<br />
symposia and to perform such other functions as are incidental and conducive to the functions or attainment of the objects of the Association.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>THE INDIAN VETERINARY JOURNAL (Official organ of Indian Veterinary Association) established in 1924, publishes papers of original work as General, Clinical and Short communications on Veterinary, Animal husbandry, Fisheries and related subjects. In addition News, Reviews on books, In Memoriam and other cognate matters pertaining to animal health, disease and production and progress of veterinary profession in general will also be published. Editor in his work of assessing the suitability of the papers received for publication is assisted by scientists in an honorary capacity.<span id="more-5"></span></p>
<p>Papers are accepted for publication on the clear understanding<br />
a) That they have neither been published nor being considered for publication elsewhere. All the authors should sign a certificate to this effect in respect of each article sent for publication. Covering letter should indicate the names, qualification and full address of all the authors.<br />
b) That the research work has been carried out with the approval of the Institutional Ethics committee and as per the laws in force at the time of carrying out the work and at the time of sending the paper for publication in the country in which the research work was carried out. A certificate to this effect should be signed by all the authors.<br />
c) That the authors are responsible for the contents of the articles. The Editor takes no responsibility and all the authors are jointly and severally responsible to the various authorities. Neither the journal nor the Editor hold themselves responsible in any manner whatsoever to the contents of the article and the views and interpretation expressed by the author in the article. All disputes regarding any legal proceeding pertaining to the journal shall be within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Judicature at Chennai<br />
All articles should have a covering letter clearly indicating whether the article is a new or revised or copy of the article already sent. The letter should also furnish complete postal address and e-mail id. of the corresponding author. A processing fee of Rs.50/- for Indian and USD 10/- for foreign article has to be sent along with the article as Demand draft or International cheque in favor of the Editor , Indian Veterinary Journal and payable at Chennai. Payment of processing fee will not ensure publication of the article.<br />
Each and every contributor should be a subscriber of the Journal. For contributors from abroad, subscription to the journal is optional.<br />
Article should be typed in A4 size paper in double space, following the format of the Indian Veterinary Journal. Two copies should be sent to the Editor, Indian Veterinary Journal, 11, Chamiers Road, Nandanam, Chennai, 600 035, India. Drawings should be on Bristol board and photos should be as clear glossy photographs of maxi size. The number of drawings or/and photographs should not exceed four per article. For accepted articles, authors should pay scanning charges for tables, drawings and photographs. For accepted papers from abroad, a lump sum publication charge in USD will be charged .<br />
Thirty reprints would be supplied. Payment of necessary reprint charges by the author is compulsory.</p>
<p>The decision of the Editor shall be final in all matters pertaining to publication of papers. Editor has the right to do editorial revision of accepted paper before publication if considered necessary. No reason shall be given for non-acceptance of the article. The copyright shall rest with the journal and no part of any paper can be reproduced without the specific permission of the Editor.<br />
Receipt of the articles will be acknowledged with the registration number. The author should return the comments of the referees and original article along with two copies of revised articles. When articles are accepted for publication, acceptance letter would be sent with a request to make payments for reprint charges, scanning charges and subscription if not paid already for the calendar year. Only on receipt of the full payment, articles will be taken up for publication. The articles are published chronologically, subject wise.<br />

<p>The page limit is inclusive of tables and references.</p>
<p>Citing References.: In the text, references should be cited by the names of the authors followed by the year of publication in parenthesis. If more than two authors are there, the name of the first author followed by et al. should be used. If within the same section of the article, the reference is repeated, instead of the year loc.cit. should be used within the parenthesis. List of References furnished at the end of the article, should be arranged alphabetically. The author’s name should be followed by the initials and before the last author ‘and’ should be used. The year of publication should be cited with parenthesis. The journal name with approved abbreviation should be in italics, the volume number should be in bold letter and the starting page number should be given after a colon and followed by a full stop. While citing books, Publisher, place of publication, Edition, Editors if any should be given followed by the pages cited. If the same journal is cited again consecutively the word ibid should be used.</p>
